Vietnamese born in France, my French name is Antoine Naudet. My original Vietnamese name is Ngô Hoài Việt.

Nearly half a century life in France and an identity crisis, then I decided to get back to my roots and try to understand the country of my ancestors.

Since the end of 2025, I've been exploring Vietnam alone by motorbike, not as a simple tourist, but as someone eager to reconnect and learn about my original country.

This slow and physical means of transportation allows me to connect much easily with people everywhere. Although Vietnamese was my mother tongue, l had not spoken the language for nearly 30 years, and it is now for me a challenge to relearn it while exploring and meeting local people in their everyday life.

So far, I've riden 7000kms visiting and staying from a few days to several months at diverse places, in the hope to learn as much as I can about history, culture, traditions and languages accross this amazing country.

2026 was dedicated to the North of Vietnam, from Hué to remote villages at the Chinese border.

The Southern part of Vietnam is in project for 2027.
